On a cliff dominating the Albano lake, the Apostolic Palace of Castel Gandolfo has served as summer retreat of 15 popes along five centuries. Now open to the general public, this castle discloses its secrets to let the visitors discover its magnificent history. Walk along the corridors and admire the Hall of the Consistory and the Hall of the Throne, beautifully adorned by polychrome marbles and precious tapestries; recall the memories of Pius XII and Paul VI in the suggestive bedroom; revere in the Chapel where Benedict XVI and Francis I prayed together.
