The history of the Jews of Florence dates back to the 15th century, the golden age of the Renaissance. See the Synagogue and Jewish Museum of Florence, originally built in 1882 and is one of the most important examples of a monumental temple in the Byzantine style with a Moorish influence.
Admire the rich interior with lacy carvings in wood and bronze, the inlaid marble floors, the rich mosaics, and stained glass windows. Discover the unexpected presence of Jewish history from the 15th to 20th century in some of the most famous landmarks: Baptistery’s Golden Doors, Piazzale della Repubblica, Ponte Vecchio and Piazzale della SIgnoria.
