Discover the home of the world famous Valpolicella red wine produced in the surroundings of Verona. Visit interesting tourist attractions from Roman times, the Middle ages, and the Renaissance, as well as contemporary monuments and beautiful gardens. Valpolicella Classica is a small region northwest of Verona, between the town and Lake Garda. Only the wines produced in this area, around the villages of Negrar, Marano, Fumane, San Pietro Incariano and Sant’Ambrogio can be labelled Valpolicella Classica DOC. The influence of Italy’s biggest lake, Lake Garda, on the microclimate and the calcareous soil gives Valpolicella Classica wines their great character. In the early afternoon, the tour will continue towards the green Moreinic Hills of the southern part of Lake Garda to experience the magical villages described in Catullus’ poems in the first century B.C. – Sirmione, famous for the Scaligero Castle and the Catullo caves, Desenzano del Garda , one of the largest towns on Lake Garda, and Peschiera del Garda, located at the beginning of the Mincio River.
