Beautiful Lake Maggiore where the first class international resort of Stresa is located starts out your day. Home to many sporting activities and the Festival of Musical Weeks, Stresa is most popular from April to October. Once a popular retreat of European aristocrats, the town is dotted with many villas representing former residences. Its main avenue opens out into Piazza Marconi, overlooked by the church of Sant’Ambrogio but its most attractive site is lakeside where you can have a panoramic view of the Borromeo Islands. Stop for lunch in a local restaurant (meal is not included) then spend the rest of your day soaking in other beautiful panoramas of the lake! Return to Milan.
