The Archaeological park of Selinunte is the largest in the Mediterranean area with its impressive Temples and Acropolis. This ancient Greek colony, after two centuries of splendour and evolution, was destroyed by the Carthaginians after its defeat against Segesta. Nowadays, the legacy of this great civilization disclose in the magnificence of the Temple E dominating the western hill and the remains of the Acropolis and of the surrounding settlment.
