Start your tour with a visit to Piazza Esquilino, Piazza Venezia and Rome’s historical center with “the Vittoriano”, the altar dedicated to King Vittorio Emanuele II in 1911. See Capitol Hill, Capitol Square and the adjacent Palatine Hill, where the enormous Temple of Jupiter was built, making it the holiest part of the city. Visit the Roman Forum, once the ancient center of commerce and politics and later becoming an area sacred to the memory of the origins of Rome and sites of public ceremonies. See the temple of Julius Caesar, the Arc of Titus and the Holy Road. Continue on for an inside visit of the mighty Colosseum, inaugurated by Emperor Vespasiano’s son with a festival of 100 days to amuse the Romans with fantastic spectacles of gladiators in bloody combat with wild animals.

NOTES

– Booking Instructions: There will be an increasing of security checks for the Colosseum that would affect the entrance so during summer months suggested pick up time is: 8.00 – 8.30 AM OR 4PM. The above pick up times are not mandatory, they are just suggested pick up time to avoid long queues.
•  Comfortable walking shoes are recommended.
• Days: Daily; opening at 09:30, last entrance at 15,15 (mid Oct-Mar) or 18,15 (Mar – mid Oct). Tickets are not skip-the-line for safety measures, early entrance is suggested. Not suggestable to be booked the first Sunday of the month for the long queues.
• Restrictions: The Colosseum is closed on Christmas and New Year’s day. The first Sunday of each month the availability of the tour has to be checked due to the special events that could be organized in the museums
