Trani and Castel del Monte tour, 1-6 pax

CONTENT
Trani is a historic fishing port in Puglia, southern Italy, on the Adriatic coast, it’s the sort of place to wander along lanes and admire harbour views. It’s really important to see is the cathedral, the Cattedrale di San Nicola Pellegrino, which dominates the seashore from a spectacular position at the water’s edge. Dating to the twelfth century, the building is wonderfully imposing and is one of the most renowned sights of Puglia. The exterior is chiefly Romanesque in style, with a tall elongated facade, rose windows and a stately campanile. Inside you don’t miss the surviving sections of a 12th-century mosaic showing Alexander the Great and Adam and Eve. Castel del Monte, that rises on a rocky hill dominating the surrounding countryside in southern Italy near the Adriatic Sea, it was completed in 1240. The castle’s location and its perfect octagonal shape reflect the broad education and cultural vision of its founder, Emperor Frederick II. As a leader of modern humanism, the Germanic Emperor brought scholars together in his court from throughout the Mediterranean, combining Eastern and Western traditions. The castle’s unique design, represents a search for perfection. Interior features reflect Eastern influences, such as the innovative hydraulic installation used by Frederick II for bathing in accord to the typical Arabic customs. The site is of outstanding universal value.
