Pompeii is the most stunning archaeological site on the Italian Peninsula and one of the most visited. The ruins of Pompeii are an open air museum where visitors can go back in time and discover a city that had been buried in ashes until 1748. Mt. Vesuvius is accessible from 09am to 3pm from Oct to Mar and 09am to 5pm from Apr to Sept
In case of bad weather or strong winds, Mount Vesuvius may be closed to the public.
